Applying Transformations from Other Objects

You can apply transformations, such as translations, rotations, and scaling, that were applied to a reference object to another dataset. This can help maintain consistency when you work with multiple objects.

How to Apply a Transformation from Another Object
  1. Transform your reference object, if not already done (see Translating and Rotating Objects).
  2. In the Data Properties and Settings panel, right-click the object that you want to apply the transformation to.
  3. Choose Modify and Transform > Apply Transformation From in the pop-up menu.
  4. Select the object from which you want to apply the transformation from in the Choose an Object dialog.

    Choose an Object dialog

Note Only objects that were previously transformed will be available in the Choose an Object dialog.

  5. Click OK to apply the transformation.

Note You can undo the applied transformation by clicking the Undo button in the Move panel. You should note that you may have to activate the Displace tool to activate Undo.
